Here at The Vintage Optical Shop we are constantly getting new rare and unique vintage eyeglass frames in stock. It is always exciting to get a new pair we never saw before and may never see again after this one is sold.

In the world of marketing they say that every time you make a sale you lose a great lead, in the sense that this customer is not interested in what you are selling anymore, since they just purchased it. The loss is mitigated by the profit made from the sale but it is still a lost lead.

Some Vintage Cat Eye Glasses We Recently Acquired

The same can be said about vintage eyeglasses. Most of the vintage frames we get are one of a kind in terms of what is left of them today. Originally, the vintage eyewear manufacturers made many of the same model in different colors and sizes. But throughout the years most vintage and antique eyeglasses got worn out, lost, or melted down for gold. It is often safe to assume that we will never see another one of the same pair.

So when we get a new pair of 1960's cat eye glasses, or any other exciting pair of men's or women's vintage frames comes into stock it is exciting. And when we sell those frames it is a sad day, we may never see an identical pair of vintage glasses again.

Here are some of our recent acquisitions. We often post them on our Instagram account  as they come in. If you follow us on Instagram you get the first chance to find out when new frames come in.

These 2 pairs of aluminum cat eye glasses were made by Sherman Optical. They are aluminum Gray / Silver Frames, identical to each other other than the designs. One has rhinestones while the other has a flower with a rhinestone in middle. We originally thought these were Tura Cat Eye Glasses as they have some similar characteristics but it turns out they are not.

The next pair is a pair of 1960's glasses, some round vintage frames. An amazing find with all those rhinestones still intact.
