Solid Gold Glasses

One of the earliest materials used in eyewear was solid gold. While most gold looking antique eyeglass frames are gold filled, there were a lot of solid gold eyeglasses made as well. Solid gold glasses were popular in the late 1800s - early 1900's. For the most part they were oval shaped.
