Gandhi Glasses
Its all over the news. Indian independance leader Mahatma Gandhi's glasses sold at auction for an astonoshing sum of 260,000 GBP. People want to get a hold of something from the famed Indian civil rights activist, and are willing to pay for it.
Upon closer inspection of the photographs of these Ghandi Glasses it is apparant that they are likely british made windsor eyeglasses. This is not something that is likely the experts at the auction house may have picked up on.
Most of the windsor eyeglasses we sell are US made. Sometimes we sell European made frames, or as they'd call them in French "vintage lunettes". The temples on these differ from US made ones in the way they operate. The british gandhi frames often had rounded temples, as is seemingly apparant in the photos.
No need to spend 260,000 Euros though. We sell them for $178 and the dollar is lower than the Euro!
