BCG Glasses

BCG glasses, also know as birth control glasses, are a nickname for some types vintage eyewear styles that were seen as boring and unnattractive. The Famouns line by Dorthy parker "men seldon make passes at girls who wear glasses" sums up what to some was a thing. Thus the term birth control glasses, indicating that the eyeglasses would lead to abstinence. The term birth control glasses was often used in the US military, which famously kept the same style of eyeglass frames for decades at a time, long after they were out of vogue in the real world.
