Browline eyeglasses are a style of vintage eyeglass frames which were very popular during the 1950's. Named after the similarity of the thick, upper part of the browline frames to the eyebrows they covered. Originally invented by Shuron optical, they accounted for almost 50% of all vintage eyewear sold in the US in the 1950's. They are sometimes referred to as combination frames, G-man, or Clubmaster eyeglasses. Notably worn by Malcolm X, and of late by Noah bennet in the TV series Heroes. Wearable Vintage Browline frames are becoming harder to find, due to the fact that the top part is usually made of plastic which shrinks with age, causing them to break away from the metal chasis. We managed to get hold of a small collection and have listed them for sale.
